Welcome to the Krimson Community Foundation, Inc. website. Krimson Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that was formed in 2001 to support the scholarship, mentoring, and community service programs of the Alpharetta-Smyrna Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and other youth programs in the greater metropolitan Atlanta community. Our programs are open to youth from all over the metropolitan Atlanta area.

Each year Krimson Community Foundation sponsors events for youth participating in a program called Guide Right. Guide Right is an academic focused program that assists students in reading, writing, and math using professional tutors. For the 2008-2009 academic year, the Guide Right program has over forty-five students enrolled in Junior Kappa League and Kappa League programs. Program participants have access to Study Island (a web based test preparation software) for Criterion Reference Competency Test (CRCT) preparation. Participants are provided with mentors who work with the mentees, their family, and their school to help guide the mentees toward academic excellence.

In addition to the academic preparation and support, participants in Guide Right are treated to fishing trips and local professional sports venues such as Atlanta Falcons football games, Atlanta Hawks basketball games, and Atlanta Braves baseball games. Working with the Alpharetta-Smyrna Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, students also participate in events such as food and clothing drives to learn the responsibility of giving back to the community.

Krimson Community Foundation also funds college scholarships for high achieving young men faced with financial hardships in pursuit of their college education. In 2008, $6,000 was awarded to deserving young men entering college during the fall semester. Krimson Community Foundation anticipates that its scholarship needs will increase in the fall of 2009. Since its inception, Krimson Community Foundation has awarded over $25,000 in scholarship funding for deserving young men.

The Mission of Krimson Community Foundation is: to provide financial support for the greater Atlanta area via coaching, counseling, mentoring, preparatory training and development to young men (particularly African-American) to enable them to realize their inherent potential and abilities.
